A specific course designed to provide a working insight and knowledge of Project Cost Management. From “order of magnitude’’ cost estimating to contingency control analysis and final cost close-out, this course provides details of what needs to be covered and done to keep project costs controlled.

  • Understand project life cycles
  • Understand the principles of project cost management
  • Prepare and review cost estimates of different types
  • Analyse project costs to find variations and/or problem areas, forecast
    end costs, ratios and efficiency factors, actions to reduce costs
  • Assess the effect of balancing cost with scope, time and quality of work
  • Understand the differences between project cost management and
    financial accounting
  • Have an understanding of the terms used in project cost management
  • Plan ahead to assess potential risks on project costs
  • Close-out contracts and develop final cost reports.

  • Project Plus UPM or ESMP Core workshops, or relevant work experience
  • No off-site components or study required.
